CPS Shining Star Awards - for Technicians and Instructors
Criteria for CPS Award:
- Certified Instructor or Technician involved at least three years
- The nomination for the award must be submitted by a technician, instructor or Board Member.
The nomination must be submitted before or at the first meeting of the year to the GTSC CPS Coordinator at SafeNY@dmv.ny.gov.
The nominating committee will review the nominations at this meeting and make decisions on who warrants a Shining Star award and what it will be. The awards will be given at the NYS meeting at the Conference.
The Debbie Lotito Lifetime Achievement Award
Intent of the award - that it is a lifetime achievement award, for an individual who has gone above and beyond normal standards and duties with three additional criteria for selection:
- that the nominee truly merits a lifetime achievement award,
- that a conference is planned for that year, and
- the nominee must be involved in CPS for at least seven years.
The nomination must be submitted by a Board Member and must include:
- A letter of intent describing the nominee's merits (what impact have they made?), and
- A bio of the nominee.
The nomination must be submitted before or at the first meeting of the year to the GTSC CPS Coordinator at SafeNY@dmv.ny.gov.
The nominating committee will review the nominations and present names and qualifications to the board at the next meeting to vote on.
If an award is to be given, it will be presented at the NYS State Meeting at the following CPS Conference.
It was agreed that such an award does NOT need to be given every year.
