New York State motor vehicle accident data is compiled by the DMV from the accident reports submitted by police agencies and by motorists.  Numbers for population and road miles are collected from other government agencies.  Ticket data are presented for the years 2001-2004.  Detailed crash data is provided for 2003; the first set of tables provides data for all crashes, and a second set provides similar data for alcohol-related crashes.   Data is reported by the DMV after one full year has been compiled.
