NY Law Enforcement Challenge

2009 New York
Law Enforcement Challenge

The Law Enforcement Challenge Program annually recognizes outstanding performance by New York's law enforcement community and other partners in the area of traffic safety. This program provides an excellent opportunity for your agency to receive recognition as a leader in highway safety enforcement and education. The competition is sponsored by the New York State Governor's Traffic Safety Committee (GTSC), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and the National Sheriffs' Association.

Departments that submit applications to the state's program are also entered into competition in the National Law Enforcement Challenge. Winners of the NY Challenge will be recognized at the Empire State Law Enforcement Traffic Safety Conference in Syracuse on May 4, 2010.

For additional information or assistance contact Law Enforcement Liaison Dominick Macherone at the Governor's Traffic Safety Committee, telephone (518) 474-4935 or e-mail dmach@dmv.state.ny.us.

Applications are due to GTSC no later than March 26, 2010.
